An acceptable ClearSay review should describe a genuine experience, help other users understand what happened and follow the platform’s review guidelines.

Before you start: Write from your own experience and keep evidence such as an invoice, booking confirmation or correspondence where relevant.

Step 1: Review the correct business

Check the business name, address, website and category before submitting. Do not post the review on a company with a similar name.

Step 2: Describe a genuine experience

Write about a product, service or interaction you personally experienced. Do not repeat rumours or publish a review on behalf of another person.

Step 3: Include useful detail

Explain what was purchased or requested, when the experience happened and what went well or badly. Keep the information relevant.

Step 4: Use respectful language

Strong criticism can be expressed without threats, harassment, discriminatory language or personal abuse.

Step 5: Protect private information

Do not publish phone numbers, home addresses, payment details, medical information, private messages or identifying information about staff or customers.

Step 6: Avoid promotional or manipulated content

Do not use reviews to advertise another business, insert unrelated links, promote a personal dispute or improve a rating through fake accounts.

Step 7: Check accuracy before submitting

Separate fact from opinion. Correct names, dates and claims that could mislead readers.

Reviews that may require moderation

  • Duplicate or copied content
  • Content unrelated to a customer experience
  • Abusive, threatening or discriminatory language
  • Personal or confidential information
  • Spam, advertising or suspicious links
  • Review manipulation or conflicts of interest
  • Unsupported allegations presented as established fact

Positive and negative reviews are both allowed

A review does not need to be positive. ClearSay’s role is to support genuine, relevant and responsibly written customer experiences.
