Act quickly if you notice an unfamiliar login, password change, profile edit, review invitation, business update or subscription change.

Before you start: Do not delete important emails or screenshots until the incident has been reviewed.

Step 1: Change your password

Use a secure device and create a new, unique ClearSay password. If you cannot sign in, start the password-reset process.

Step 2: Secure your email account

Change the email password and review its recovery settings because access to your email may allow another person to reset ClearSay.

Step 3: Sign out of shared devices

End any active sessions where possible and remove saved passwords from shared browsers.

Step 4: Record the suspicious activity

Take screenshots and note the date, time and exact change.

  • Unexpected email-address change
  • Unknown business-profile edit
  • Review invitations you did not send
  • Unfamiliar plan or billing change
  • Password-reset message you did not request

Step 5: Check connected business details

Review the public business profile, contact details, website link and review responses for unauthorised changes.

Step 6: Contact ClearSay immediately

Use the ClearSay contact page. State that the enquiry concerns suspected unauthorised account activity.

Step 7: Follow the recovery instructions

ClearSay may ask you to verify the account or your authority to manage the business. Provide only the requested evidence through the official route.

Do not do the following

  • Do not send your password or verification code.
  • Do not confront an unknown person through the account.
  • Do not create duplicate business profiles.
  • Do not click links in suspicious messages.
  • Do not assume the issue is resolved only because the password changed.
