Accurate business listings help customers contact the correct company and avoid confusion between businesses with similar names.

Before you start: Open the affected business profile and check the information carefully before submitting a report.

Step 1: Find the business listing

Visit ClearSay.co.uk and search for the business by its trading name or registered name.

Step 2: Identify the incorrect information

Note exactly which part of the listing appears incorrect.

  • Business name
  • Address or postcode
  • Telephone number
  • Website address
  • Email address
  • Business category
  • Business description
  • Duplicate listing

Step 3: Check a reliable source

Compare the listing with the business’s official website, public company information or another reliable source. Do not report information simply because it looks unfamiliar.

Step 4: Collect the relevant links

Copy the ClearSay business-profile link and, where possible, the official source that shows the correct information. Screenshots may also help.

Step 5: Contact ClearSay

Open the ClearSay contact page and explain what needs correcting.

Step 6: Provide a clear correction request

Include the business name, profile link, incorrect detail, proposed correction and supporting source. Business owners should also state their role within the company.

Avoid creating a duplicate listing

If the business already exists but contains incorrect details, report the existing profile instead of adding a second listing. Duplicate listings can divide reviews and confuse customers.

Business owners

An authorised owner or representative may be asked to claim the listing or verify their relationship with the business before important details are changed.
