A review should be flagged when it may breach ClearSay’s guidelines, not simply because a user or business disagrees with the opinion expressed.

Before you start: Read the full review and keep any relevant evidence ready before submitting the report.

Step 1: Sign in to ClearSay

Open ClearSay.co.uk and sign in to your user or business account.

Step 2: Open the review

Find the relevant business profile and locate the review you want ClearSay to assess.

Step 3: Select the flag or report option

Choose the available Flag, Report or similar option beside the review. If no reporting option is displayed, use the contact page.

Step 4: Choose the most accurate reason

Select the reason that best describes the concern.

  • The review appears unrelated to the business
  • It contains abusive, threatening or discriminatory language
  • It reveals personal or confidential information
  • It appears to be spam or promotional content
  • It may come from a person without a genuine experience
  • It appears duplicated, coordinated or misleading

Step 5: Explain the concern

Provide a short, factual explanation. Identify the exact sentence or issue and avoid emotional or unsupported accusations.

Step 6: Submit the report

Review the information and submit it once. Repeated reports do not automatically speed up the assessment.

What happens after a review is flagged?

ClearSay may assess the content, request more information or leave the review visible while the matter is considered. Reporting a review does not guarantee its removal.

What is not normally a valid reason?

  • The review is negative.
  • The reviewer gave a low rating.
  • The business remembers the event differently.
  • The customer will not remove the review after being contacted.
